The Wines we source

The quality of wines from various regions will differ from year to year depending on the growing season and vintage conditions in that region.

Our approach of sourcing wines from different regions and possibly different wineries each year allows us flexibility in selecting the best wines from vintage to vintage.

In our strive to achieve our mission the grape varieties of wines or blends we source and offer from year to year may accordingly differ from year to year.

The primary wine varieties and the blends for which the McLaren Vale, Barossa, Coonawarra and Langhorne Creek regions are famous are;

Shiraz – the colour is dark red/dark purple with plum and blackberry fruit on the nose. The palate exhibits rich berry fruit and hints of licorice, chocolate, peppery spice and sometimes some mint

Cabernet Sauvignon – the colour is deep red with berry and herbaceous notes on the nose. The palate is often layered with blackberry and current and with hints of licorice and cedery oak and herbs

Grenache – the colour is ruby to dark red with cherry, raspberry and hints of spice on the nose. The palate exhibits raspberry, mulberry and plum.

And increasingly

Malbec – the colour is deep red with aromas of berry, plum and sometimes pomegranate. The palate is of berry, plums and spices.

Petit Verdot – the colour is dark red with cherry plum and redcurrant nose. The palate exhibits blackberry, redcurrant and cherry.

And blends of Shiraz Cabernet, Grenache Shiraz and Grenache Shiraz Mataro
