Gold Barrel Wines was formed by a small group of people from various backgrounds passionate about red wine, in particular South Australian red wine.

 

We are not a winery. We source wines from various wineries and wholesale them to you under our label.

 

We primarily source our wines from wineries in the McLaren Vale, Barossa and Coonawarra regions. These regions produce red wines which are outstanding for their quality and value

 

The primary wine selector in the group has 40 years experience . He started with Hardy's Tintara winery in McLaren Vale and subsequently worked with other wineries in the McLaren Vale, Barossa and Coonawarra regions, in reviewing, assessing and marketing wines. What's more he personally knows many of the winemakers in the regions and knows what's happening during each growing season and the vintage.
